The Queen of Mahou Shojou: A Review of Princess Tutu

Written By: Platitude

Hello! I discovered Otaku Nuts a few months ago, and recently decided to apply all of my pent-up bile into writing a few reviews and other things for the site. I'll be writing a few pieces from time to time, so get used to me being here, bitches.

Due much in part to Sailor Moon's success in the mid to late 1990s, the magical girl genre has become one of the "faces of anime" to people who are unfamiliar with the medium. If one from this group were to be asked to describe what the subject matter of a typical anime would be, magical doe-eyed schoolgirls flying around and battling evil ranks just above incest in terms of popular answer choices, although it still comes in second behind tentacle porn.

Of course, there is much more to the genre than the big eyes and short skirts aesthetic that the general public perceives, as producers realized that in order to capitalize on the path Sailor Moon had forged into the west, a magical girl series must evolve beyond the original concepts provided by the likes of Sally the Witch. And thus came the Tutu.

Yep, it's called Princess Tutu. Wait! No! Come back!

Fairy Tail Zero Chapter 4 - Dances With Blades

Written by: Shiggins

Wow, I'm so sorry! I usually never take this long to finish a review! Well, here it is now!

Before I can talk about how excited I am by today's amazing ending, I'm going to focus on what is probably my favourite chapter of Fairy Tail Zero so far. Mavis and her new gang have arrived in the port town Hargeon, and the girls are looking in amazement at everything going on. Precht is in a foul mood because of the girls tagging along with them so goes to find information about Blue Skull and to his chagrin, Mavis wants to come too.

"We'll find the Two Piece and become Queens of the Fairies!"

NARUTO Chapter 698 Review : Naruto and Sasuke part 5

Written by : FrillyPhoenix

This is it, the climax of the Naruto vs. Sasuke fight has been reached.
And I believe nobody can deny it is one of the most emotional chapters of the manga.
I mean, even Emosuke couldn't hold all the feels by the end of the chapter !
It is during moments like these that I remember why Kishimoto is a great mangaka.

Bleach 603 Review – What the Hell

Bleach 603 Review – What the Hell

Normal service has been postponed.

Okay, so remember last time when I said that I thought I was on top of things and I shouldn’t be missing any reviews from now on? Well, I was wrong. So very, very wrong. So instead of making what might turn out to be false promises, I’m just going to admit that I don’t know when I’ll next be able to do a review. I could be fine from here on out, or I could be so swamped that I don’t get any reviews done for a month, so I’m just going to have to take this day by day. In terms of this review, I’m only going to be covering today’s chapter, as the events in it have pretty much rendered the last two chapters pointless anyway.

This is what university has done to me.

Fairy Tail Chapter 406 Review - The Girl in the Crystal

Written by: Shiggins

And another huge question is finally answered!

Ever since the Tartaros Arc happened, we've been getting tons of questions asked and answered. Where did Igneel go? What will happen to the "evil" Minerva? Will any of these shipped couples ever smooch? These and more were always on our mind, and now we've finally got one less question to wonder about: What is Lumen Histoire?

If I was about to get crushed, I probably wouldn't be laughing!

Magi 244th Night Review

Written by: Micha

What a plot twist. Turns out there actually is some sense in Hakuryuu and Judar teaming up together, and this chapter pretty much explained it.

So this chapter is a continuation of Hakuryuu and Judar in the Dungeon Belial where Hakuryuu is unable to take Alibaba’s hand, because clearly he has inner battles which are explained in this chapter. Even Hakuryuu wonders why he couldn’t take Alibaba’s hand, and Djinn Belial sees the black thoughts swirling inside Hakuryuu.

Then Morgianna extended her hands to him, saying that try and talk to Hakuei once more since he’s been attempting to realize his dream with his sister. Hakuryuu remembers his sister growing up in Kou together. He then asked his sister why he didn’t do anything about their mother despite noticing that something was wrong with their mother and their country.

Alibaba: "What the fuck is this dork doing?"

Dangan Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc - What I Think

Written by: Shiggins

With the newest release in the Dangan Ronpa series and my immense boredom from not having written an article for a few weeks, I have decided to do my best to encourage more people to join the fandom of one of my favourite game series.

I’m going to keep this as spoiler-free as possible, and tell you why the Story, Characters, Gameplay, Anime and Other facts should make you invested enough to dive in.

"Danganronpa" is a combination of the Japanese words "dangan" which means bullet, and "ronpa" which means refutation

NARUTO Chapter 697 Review : Naruto and Sasuke part 4

Written by : FrillyPhoenix

The "Naruto vs. Sasuke" fight is reaching its end.
You can feel the exhaustion of the two boys at this point !
I'm pretty sure their shirts must smell aweful by now...
Anyway, on to the serious stuff !

What's happening in this chapter ?

The fight between Naruto and Sasuke goes on. Naruto's "shurikens" and Sasuke's arrow (so nicely named after his ancestor Indra) collide and create a huuuge... err... explosion that casts thunder everywhere in the area. The blow is so impressive it reaches Kakashi and Sakura as well as the places were the mummified people are.

The "cocoons" moving in the wind cracked me up.

Fairy Tail Chapter 405 Review - Part 6: Magna Carta

Written by: Shiggins

And now we enter Part 6 of the Tartaros Arc! (Man, this arc is huge...)

To be honest, I didn't bring this review up immediately because I was really wasn't heart-pumpingly excited this time. There wasn't anything brilliant that I wanted to fangirl over (like Lucy vs 3 demons at once), or anything that I needed to rage-rant over (like Erza's Terminator-status) so in the end, I'm just sort of doing this review because I have to. As you can imagine, I'm not entirely enthusiastic but that doesn't mean it's a negative review.

Okay... That is fucking awesome!

Kuroshitsuji Chapter 98 Review - That Butler, Response

Written by: Shiggins

*happy sigh of relief*

I was so worried that this month's chapter would be another stupid breakdown into insanity. Thankfully, the series did manage to pick itself up a little bit and started to recover from the idiocy of the previous chapter. The series' running theme of "conspiracy" has always been prominent and as you should remember, it has never been as silly as this one. Anyway, enough build-up. It's time to begin the review.

"I have to pee!"
