Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Chapter 55 Review - Fate of Death

Kick some grass.

Have I used that pun before? Probably. Am I going to use it and many more again? See previous answer. Maybe reading them will bring some joy to you all during this difficult time, just like saying them does to me. Probably not so let's move on and wonder if this entire arc about fighting trees is secretly a metaphor for how humanity is giving in to progress, and how nature will fight back if we continue to abuse and mistreat it... It's not a metaphor for that but imagine it is anyway.

I suddenly realised that, no matter what happens in this sequel, I am never going to fear for their lives. I mean, even less than before.

So this chapter is mostly introducing the God Seeds from last time, with most of them doing something to show off the kind of difficulty they provide. We start with Natsu screaming as the GS-Aldoron stands over him and, without any reason whatsoever, starts to explain what Aldoron is and where the God Seeds came from.

OW! Why the knee's skin?! What a dick! Just kill him instead! 

So apparently, the dragon Aldoron is actually a villainous type (Huh. I called it) who seeks to take over Guiltina, but the wounds from Acnologia long ago made him unable. So he rested and grew larger, even placing towns on top of him to gather more energy and life. Once he got so huge, Aldoron created the God Seeds to suppress his unmanageable power, but now he's awake thanks to WW and is out to destroy.

As Natsu vows to stop GS-Aldoron, we cut to Gajeel trying to take down Metro's goons but unable to. As everyone is struggling, Gray and Juvia charge for Metro himself but he is defended well, most likely meaning his main body is weak. A single page is devoted to Jellal and Gears that isn't worth talking about, and so we'll just move on to Doom.

With almost everyone in Wendy's group unable to fight, including Wendy herself, Carla takes the lead and puts on her human form. Carla tries to attack but to nobody's surprise, she is unable to do anything and instead her body becomes covered in spores, rendering her unable to move. A flower grows on her head, and Doom reveals that once all five petals fall off the flower, one per minute, Carla will die.

Opinion: One + One + One + One + One = Five.

That means they have five minutes. I'm smart so I figured that out all by myself, before Happy felt the need to tell me. And it looks like we're focusing on the Doom battle first, which I'm not actually against. Jellal isn't going to have any issue because of his power and Grand Chariot, Metro is fighting almost everyone in Fairy Tail so he's screwed, and Natsu is Natsu. Doom is the one I'm most unsure how they'll defeat.

Possible ways that Doom can be defeated: Irene takes over Wendy again, Touka or WW wake up to fight the battle, Wendy figures out the necessary enchantment despite being told that won't work... and my personal favourite, Happy figures out how to transform like Carla and Pantherlily, becomes hilariously overpowered thanks to learning how Natsu fights all these years, and future shenanigans can ensue.

Someone knows I'm waiting for it!

A big plus is that GS-Aldoron finally told us something about Aldoron's personality and ambition, hopefully not lying to make Natsu fight harder or whatever. We now that Aldoron is a villain like Selene and Ignia, he is in control of his actions, and he deserves what's coming to him. It's not a lot, but it's more than what we've had so far so I'm thankful for that at least.

Worst Part: Basically no Gears.
