No-walkie, lots-of-talkie.
Ironically, I don't want to waste time talking like this manga currently is. Seriously, I've said it before but I am so grateful to my decision to do two chapters at a time for these reviews. Imagine me having to write two reviews about all the blah-blah-blah of these two chapters! Oh yeah, and there's an anime of this coming out. Can you imagine how damn exciting this episode is going to be?!
Looks like it'd be sweaty in there. |
Let's start with how hilarious it is that we get Georg's backstory and his connection to the Five Dragon Gods after he died. This is the kind of stuff you tell us before he dies, so that way we know how big a face he is and him being killed so easily is a big deal. It's another sign of how poorly planned out this series has really become, although that's probably a lot to do with how the manga industry itself works, considering how often things like this happen.
Honestly, due to all the drawn-out conversation with very little actually being revealed, the only really interesting parts of the 92nd chapter is the ending cliffhangers. We finally got a show of Suzaku's colleagues, and we found out they're invading a great labyrinth that has another Dragon God in there. The reveal is absolute bullshit obviously, with zero foreshadowing at all, but more dragons mean... well, more dragons. There's no such thing as "too many dragons".
A little disappointed they aren't all samurai too, but Misaki is already wonderful so I'll make an exception here and allow it. |
Of course, the downside is that the very next chapter is nothing but exposition as well so we can get our explanation of who this new guy is. On the plus side though, it sounds like the next chapter is going to be in the maze made of a dragon's corpse so I'm looking forward to that. In fact, my theory is the labyrinth will reassemble itself into Dogramag, alive all along and now bigger than ever before.
Still though, the power of "Law"? That's badass. It probably raises tons of questions and plotholes about this series since there's a dragon with the power of knowledge but who cares? That being said, the fact Elefseria brings up a government weapon, and even the series says "there's ANOTHER one?" tells me he's telling some bullshit! Especially since if the plot is once again going for a Face/Etherion plot, I'm going to flip a table. We've been here a few too many times.
Oh my god, her kitsune tails are FABULOUS. |
In the biggest surprise though, Laxus and Gajeel are here! Two of the all-time best characters have been summoned to participate in this arc too! Does that mean Selene is specifically after the Dragon Slayers of Fairy Tail, or will Cobra, Sting and Rogue make an appearance next week too? I'm fine with either, I like these characters, but I want to know!
Next time, let's hope the "game" that Selene has created has some fun rules and twists because a standard "make it to the portkey" labyrinth contest would be disappointing wen presented with such an opportunity.
And let's hope you all return for my next review! See you guys next time!
