Best of 2018 - Anime

Written by Shiggins

Characters

Battles

Moments

Series

4 categories. 5 to each. These are the best of every anime I was able to watch this year, and all in one article for your personal enjoyment/hatred. So let's celebrate this excruciatingly long year's ending by looking back at the shows that came out, and judging them! Obviously, with these limitations, some shows won't have made the list but I welcome you giving your favourites to me down below in the comment section!

Note: Spoilers ahead for several anime, but I've tried to keep things as brief as I can for the ones who haven't watched Devilman Crybaby or Violet Evergarden.

Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest Chapters 13 and 14 Review - Fated Meeting on the Water and Rain and Shadow

Written by Shiggins

The battle begins again!

A double-chapter review featuring Brandish, Kyria and Touka, while also mentioning Gajeel's past? Well, I'm sure that will make up for the fact that 100 Year Quest predictably let me down in a certain area that I told you all would happen last time!

It must be such a pain to come up with these covers.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse - Movie Review

Written by Shiggins

This is exactly what I wanted!

I don't want Venom. I don't want The Amazing Spider-Man. THIS! I want this! I've been saying for years that instead of trying to imitate the MCU or DCEU, Sony should focus their Spider-Man properties on the alternate "what if" incarnations of the hero. We've got a live-action teenage Spider-Man. We've never had a Noir film! A 2099 film! And we've definitely never had Peni Parker, the anime highschool Spider-Girl!

What, no room for Spider-Ham? That's pigcist!

UQ Holder (So far) - Manga Review

Written by Shiggins

Good immortals?

It's a common trope that a magical villain will want to gain immortality so they can then live forever and rule forever. We saw it in Indiana Jones' Nazis, Frieza, Voldemort, Madara Uchiha and so many more. Usually, the villain either fails or becomes immortal with a twist (like maybe they can be captured now or something). UQ Holder is the exact opposite in almost every way, where immortals are the majority of the cast and aren't even the main villains! By that premise alone, I was quite excited.

Note: This monthly manga series is still running. I just thought it'd be important to tell you. Also, minimal spoilers.

Even the guys get shirtless in this series! Risque!
