Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Chapter 27 Review - Wood God Dragon Aldoron

Written by Shiggins

Another good arc has begun to sprout?

Yes, wood you believe that we're finally at the next God Dragon already? I woodn't have believed it myself, since I wood have thought that Mashima-senpai wood like to spend some more time barking up another tree for a while. But oak course we had to get to the root of our story eventually, and so here we are.

Mahogany.

Alright, I'm done with the puns. For now.

Why woodn't he look at you, Juvia? You're great!
The group have arrived in Draciel, the capital of Giltena, and are having fun exploring with their plus-one Juvia. We get a flashback to the cliffhanger from last week, since I suppose they really wanted to start this chapter with the new city, where Juvia seemed a bit odd but was more-or-less the same. She even has a Gray-dar! I have one too.

In the present, the group admit they can't tell Juvia about the mission, or even allow her to tag along for it, but she promises to leave soon anyway. The next page is partying at a bar until late at night, when they're kicked out of a bar and walking the streets. Lucy is confused at the map of Draciel, and Juvia starts to freak out when asked about the guild. She warns Gray about "the white witch" before collapsing.

Second review in a row where I ended up thinking about Grand Blue. Hope we get a hat-trick!
As Gray tries to wake Juvia, the town begins to shake. Is it Touka? No, it's actually a common occurrence for the city where they all pray to the God Dragon Aldoron, on which the city rests. Or more specifically, it rests on his hand!

Opinion: He's a big boi.

So if Pokemon has taught me anything, then Natsu shouldn't be too upset. While it is true that this Grass type is bloody massive, he's a Fire type. Surely he can burn this thing to the ground, right? I'm not saying I want to see Aldoron die, but if you decided to kill it then fly up to the top and burn his head apart. Easy. Boom.

KAIJU! "Let them fight."
To be fair, Aldoron is a very cool design and I like the idea of going as big as this. If you're going to make a massive dragon, then go all-out and have one the size of a country. That's awesome. Hopefully, Aldoron doesn't follow the Mercuphobia route though. I don't know why it didn't occur to me until just now, but the idea of every one of these dragons being worshipped by townspeople sounds really bad and I'm already fearing another "this dragon is actually good so don't kill him" plot. Then again, Ignia might come along and do exactly what I was saying in the previous paragraph...

It's great to see Juvia back! I like Juvia, a lot. Hope she isn't knocked out for the entire trip. And now that she is, what exactly was Touka planning here? An ambush? She certainly took her time if that's the case. Is everyone the same? Where are they all? Why did Touka only send one? Is Juvia really out of this arc already? Surely not, for that last one.

Manga Rating: 3.5/5

Best Part: Wood God Dragon!

Worst Part: Another worshipping town.

Again, why does this art look so similar to the original but Boruto can't get an artist to make it not look like a pile of piss next to Naruto?
