Dragon Ball FighterZ - Game Review

Written by Shiggins

Let's fighting love!

I love the Dragon Ball franchise, but fighting games have never been my forte. Button mashing to do the most complicated combos imaginable while a superior foe smashes my face in has never been a source of entertainment for me, either in real life or video games. With the appearance of FighterZ however, it was time to give fighting games another try and pray that I have grown in skill as well as age.

I know it's pronounced "Fighters" but I pronounce it Fighter Z and if you have a problem with that, gather the Dragon Balls and wish for me to shut up!

My Hero Academia Chapter 167 Review - The No.1 Hero's Starting Line

Written by Shiggins

Finally, back to school! (I bet nobody else has ever said that).

Yes, my wish has been granted. The main characters are all back in the same classroom together, as the title says they should be! To top it off, we even get a surprise glimpse of someone who has never really gotten the time he deserves, and next week could either be a hilarious chapter or a terrifying one!

Camie, stop trying to be shipped with Bakugou. It won't go well for you.

Xenoverse Games Review

Written by Shiggins

With FighterZ coming out this week, I thought it was a good idea to go back and remind myself of the last major Dragon Ball video game series that was released, to see if it was better or worse than I remembered. Developed by Dimps, best known for the Budokai trilogy, this was the game people had been begging to happen for many years. And was it worth the wait?

It has to be said that the covers of these games are just... so boring.

My Hero Academia Chapter 164, 165 & 166 Review - Masegaki, Win Those Kids' Hearts & A Warm Provisional License Training Course

Written by Shiggins

GUIDANCE!

A trio of chapters that proves that the true monsters of society are children! They called me mad for believing they would destroy us all, but this manga just proved me right! Thank God we have the great whale man to protect us! (Also yes, I am so so so sorry that it took me this long to bring out this review!)

Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry Review

Written by Shiggins

Two-in-one review!

Yes, this one has been a long time coming, and it covers both anime and films so go me! For those who are unaware, this is the second movie of the Fairy Tail series and has only had two advertisements. One of them was a trailer, and the other was an epic poster of Natsu with a dragon wing and claw. Is the result worthy of that badass image? Well...

Anime-only fans are going to be sooo confused.

Coco Review

Written by Shiggins

Oh Dios mío, Pixar!

A film that has been in development for 7 years finally made its debut in America last November, but life is sometimes cruel and so I had to wait until January for the movie to come out, due to the fact I am Scotland-bound. So while this review may seem late to some of you, I assure you that this was written as soon as I finally saw the film.

Note: This is a spoiler-free review.

That is one bridge I do not trust!

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations - Worthy of the Uzumaki Name?

Written by Shiggins

Requested by Kudakwashe Timba.

2017 was the introduction of Naruto's sequel anime Boruto, starring... well, Boruto! I hadn't ever bothered watching it because Studio Pierrot isn't exactly the first name that comes to mind when I think of a good anime company. (In other words, I think they suck). However, with recommendation comes possibility and so, I gave it a watch. Is Boruto any good? Does it surpass the original Naruto series in any way? Well...

Well, at least it's already looking better than that shitty Shippuden anime.

The Best of 2017

The Best of 2017
Written by: ClayDragon & Shiggins

Yes ladies, gentlemen, and others, it’s that time again. Time to ring in the New Year with your friends and/or family. Time to overdose on shortbread, or set off fireworks, or (if you’re us) frantically obsess over the peaks of 2017’s anime series. Instead of our somewhat-traditional set of five lists being posted over the New Year period, we’ve done something a bit different this time. Instead, it’s just one big list, talking about the best openings, fights, characters, moments and series from across the year. Of course, putting all of this in the one post means that we’ve had to cut down a bit, so we’ll only be looking at the top three of each, and they won’t be in any particular order. With that in mind, let’s get cracking!

Side note: Whilst we made an effort to watch lots of shows that started airing this year, we couldn’t see them all. So if there’s a series that you think should be on this list but isn’t, then it’s probably because we never got around to watching it, as opposed to us not liking it.

As is this the case with many of these lists, SPOILER ALERT. You have been warned.
