Top 5 Disappointing Moments of 2013

 Written by: ClayDragon and Micha

The best thing about reading manga is the reactions they can get out of us with just a piece of image. We don’t care if it’s fiction; it brings us laughter, makes us cry like a bitch, outrages us, and maybe gives us a boner too.

And no matter how good your favorite manga is, occasionally it has its ups and down. Just like how there are certain moments that excite us; there will be moments when you feel you’re let down, as a reader.  And to highlight these moments of 2013, we’ve compiled 5 disappointing/annoying moments we’ve perceived this year.

5. The Cricket Match (Black Butler)
_____________________________________________________________________________

Black Butler seems to take pride in the fact that it’s set in England, so it was only a matter of time before cricket came up in some shape or form. It’s just a shame that it was done so poorly. For starters, Black Butler is a monthly series, so you’d expect it to move along at a fairly rapid pace to avoid the audience becoming bored. Sadly, this was not the case. From the very beginning of the cricket mini-arc (when the teams were introduced) to the end (when the winning team sailed down the river), this lasted 7 chapters, going from midway through October 2012 to midway through May of 2013.

Well, it took seven months, but it's finally over.

Why Sai is Fucking Awesome

Written by: Micha

Sai is one of the many characters in Naruto who gave me the impression of an excellent shinobi. He is also one of the very few characters in the fandom who is neither overrated nor underrated and I must say that his nature is very thrilling and- UGGH FUCK this politeness! Sai is FUCKING awesome shit!

You wanna know why? I’ll fucking tell you why!

1. He always has a badass fake smile. Now tell me that this doesn’t turn you on. He has a bitching fake smile on his face ALL THE FUCKING TIME that puts fucking Elton John to shame! He can say “I killed your puppy.” and still be giving you that hot shit ass smile as if he had recently discovered the fucking marijuana!

Fairy Tail Chapter 365 Review - Fanservice Turns Dark

Written by: Shiggins

Another extra-long chapter of drama!

Natsu and Happy arrive at the remains of the Ex-Chairman's home, but he's too late to save Erza and Mirajane. There is a heavy smell of herbs in the air and Natsu realises it was a sleeping drug that was coming from the tea (I told you so!). Natsu gets angry and literally destroys the entire house and although we first thought that was because he was letting out some rage, it turns out that he was actually burning all the herbs.

You Know It's Going To Be A Great Day When It Starts With Chibis!

Character Birthday Challenge ~ Hinata

Favorite personality trait:
Shyness. It’s a good and bad thing. It gives her a huge cuteness factor, and you really start to feel sympathy for her. But it’s also a irritation factor. The way she keeps stuttering and fainting when she sees Naruto gets on your nerves. I really hope she keeps getting less shy and speaks her mind more often, like she did during the war a few times now.

Bleach 563 Review – “Superstar Never Die”

Bleach 563 Review – “Superstar Never Die”

Looks like it wasn’t so quick after all…

After being sliced in the stomach by Renji’s attack, it looks as if Mask is ready to fall…until he simply stands up straight and states that he won’t die by Renji’s hand. He then calls upon James, who is still somehow alive (and able to grow new bodies from the remains of his previous one). As every James cheers for him, Mask begins to grow and grow in strength.

Character Birthday Challenge ~ Madara

Favorite personality trait:
Self-confidence. Madara knows he’s one of the most powerful shinobi and it shows in everything he does. The way he fights, talks. Everything.

Fairy Tail Chapter 364 Review - The Bigger The Beard, The Bigger The Bastard!

Written by Shiggins

I love longer chapters and the amount of drama they give!

In this extra long chapter, we started off with Erza and Mirajane meeting the ex-chairman of the council, Crawford Seam. I have nicknamed him Jumbobeard. They first mention about how they wish they knew where Jellal was, and Erza saying he'd be fine. We then discover that Crawford Seam actually remembers Erza from many years ago, when Natsu pretended to be Erza to help her escape a false trial. For those of you who don't remember this moment, go to the very beginning of the Galuna Island Arc, also known as the first arc to feature Lyon. (And one of my least favourites.)

Bleach 562 Review – “The Villain 2”

Bleach 562 Review – “The Villain 2”
Written by: ClayDragon

Well that was…surprisingly quick.

After Renji’s surprise entrance last week, Rukia lands beside him and he tells her to look after Rose and Kensei whilst he fights Mask. Agreeing, Rukia picks up the two wounded Captains and moves away, leaving Renji on his own. Confused, Mask asks why Renji and Rukia aren’t ganging up on him, and states that all villains use dirty tricks to win. Renji’s only response to this is to claim that he’ll be cowardly enough to win.

Bleach 561 Review – “The Villain”

Bleach 561 Review – “The Villain”
Written by: ClayDragon

We now have a new contender for the title of ‘Creepiest Bankai’!

Continuing the fight, Kensei gets back up from being knocked down by Mask De Masculine, and flies towards him, only to be intercepted and kneed in the stomach. Before he can react, he’s grabbed by Mask, who performs a ‘Star Headbutt’ on him. Taking the opportunity, Kensei punches him in the chest with his Bankai, but this has no effect on Mask, who grabs his fist and says that the attack won’t work on him.

Attack on Titan Chapter 52 Review – “Krista Lenz”

Attack on Titan Chapter 52 Review – “Krista Lenz”

Before I start this, I’d like to make it clear that this review is essentially a trial run. If I can keep up with reviewing both Bleach and Attack on Titan, as well as the weekly Top 10s/Anime Reviews, then I will happily do so. However, if it turns out that doing all of that will be impossible, then I’ll stop reviewing AoT and focus solely on Bleach and my other weekly articles.

Fairy Tail Chapter 363 Review - Is Elfman Going To Have To Choke A Bitch?

Our 200th post!

Written by: Shiggins

I still don't know what's going on with the hair!

Well, finally we move on and see what's happening with other teams of Fairy Tail. It turns out that both Gajeel's team, which consists of Team Shadow Gear, and Gray's team, which is just Juvia, were too late. Juvia tells Makarov via a Communication Lacrima that it was a fight, and for some reason there are black lines all over the place. This just leaves Elfman and Lisanna to let us know how everything went.

One Piece 730 Review

Written by: PorcelainDragon

First up is the cover story, which is about Caribou. I love cover stories, but Caribou wasn't interesting before, and he isn't interesting now. X Drake is cool but his coolness can't outweigh Caribou, who is severely overweight.
Badass meets fatass
So we see in the first panel, a glorious establishing shot. Showing us where all characters are relative to each other. Take notes, Kubo.

After shooting Law, Doflmingo blames Law for the fraud. Considering how he managed to con his way to the throne, it's very in character. Of course, the public believes him. Luffy get's pissed at Doflamingo, but Doflamingo says that it’s his job to take care of Law. Zoro and Kinemon attack the Shichibukai, but Fujitora steps in to block the attack.

Bleach 560 Review – “Rages at Ringside”

Bleach 560 Review – “Rages at Ringside”
Written by: ClayDragon

"DYNAMIC ENTRY!"

Apparently, wrestling moves are now more than a match for swords.

As Rukia and Renji fall towards the battlefield, Mask De Masculine watches them and asks himself if he should go over and investigate what’s happening. He then asks for James’ opinion, to which his follower/groupie/mole person says he can get lots of attention for investigating the falling objects. Mask agrees, and just as he begins to run away his foot is caught by the chains on Kazeshini. As he bends down to take off the chains, Shuhei asks Mask if he thinks he’s won.
