Top 10 Anime Openings

Top 10 Anime Openings
Written by: Claydragon

Anime openings are one of the more important aspects of watching a new series. They can clue you in on what to expect, and in some cases can even determine whether or not you choose to watch the series at all. As such, I decided to compile a list of my top 10 anime openings, along with a brief paragraph explaining what I like about them. This list does only cover openings from shows that I’ve watched, which is why Attack on Titan’s first opening and Blue Exorcist’s second opening are not on this list. Also, as will be standard for my future lists, only one opening per show will be chosen. If you want to listen to/watch the opening, just click on the name of the song in brackets.

Fairy Tail Chapter 353 Review - A New Slayer Enters

And with that, I now see the true purpose of this arc.

So as predicted, Atlas Flame isn't here to stay. In fact, he's already dead. This is Wendy's Milky Way spell which she used to talk to Zirconis' spirit during the previous arc. Sadly, his mind is a bit frayed right now because of all the ice so he's having trouble keeping his words and sentences together. Thankfully, that doesn't mean he isn't helpful.

Bleach 550 Review – “Blazing Bullets”

Bleach 550 Review – “Blazing Bullets”

Seriously, Soul Society’s position just gets worse and worse.

After the big battles between Sui-Féng and BG9, and Hitsugaya against Bazz-B, this chapter starts off with Kurotsuchi engaging Askin… in a sassing match. Askin declares that it will take too much time to fight against Kurotsuchi, so he gives up. Apparently, he likes to get things done quickly, and so begins to leave, only to pause and ask if Kurotsuchi is going to chase after him. Not falling for the obvious taunt, Mayuri is about to talk to Askin when he feels Sui-Féng’s spirit energy. It turns out that Yhwach anticipated that the Captains whose Bankais were stolen would still get stronger, and Askin reveals that the Captains are apparently a credible threat.

Carnival Phantasm Anime Review

Carnival Phantasm Review

It doesn't make sense, even in context.

Let’s make a spinoff series of Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime. Let’s include all of the main characters of both series. Let’s take all the drama and tension, and replace it with over-exaggerated personalities and humour. Hell, throw in some talking cat things while we’re at it.

But why is it so fun?

Character Birthday Challenge ~ Ino

f400f33bbf31d27756a55e70db0b8ff4.jpg
Favorite personality trait:
Kindness. I know she can be harsh and stuff, but she can also be very kind. Like when she helped Sakura get more confidence. She cares a lot about her friends and will do anything to make them cheer up again. I really like that side of her.
Favorite relationship:
Sakura. I know they see each other more as rivals than friends, but they have a strong bond nonetheless. Ino helped Sakura when she was being bullied and made her more confident about herself. Even now they still try to outdo the other in everything, like Ino didn’t like it when Sakura became her superior while training under Tsunade, and Sakura loved it. But aside this rivalry, they know they can always count on each other.
Favorite fight:
I actually liked all her fights. The way she works together with Choji and Shikamaru is just amazing. They know each others’ abilities so well and always know how to train themselves to keep up with the others.
Favorite jutsu:
Mind Body Switch Technique. I know it’s the Yamanaka’s signature move and Ino has been using is since ever, but I still like it.
Favorite outfit:
I prefer her genin outfit. I actually dislike her new one.

Favorite random thing:
Her knowledge about flowers. The way she compared Sakura to a flower while trying to cheer her up, was just cute.
-----
Personal thoughts:
She can be bossy and act tough, but in the end she’s very kind and sensitive. When this side of her was shown, I really started liking her. Her skills are amazing and I think she’s doing a great job being in a team with Shikamaru and Choji. Her bond with Sakura is also very interesting, I would like to see where they end up.

Character Birthday Challenge ~ Shikamaru

f37ca4a02b46e628ebe3df24fb1ddc9f.jpg
Favorite personality trait:
His sense of commitment to his friends and Konoha. He would do anything to protect his friend of end his missions with success. Even sacrifice himself.
Favorite relationship:
Choji. I love their strong bond. Choji would do anything for Shikamaru and the other way around. He always knows how to talk to Choji and give him more confidence in his own abilities.

Fairy Tail Chapter 352 Review - I'm Back, Baby!

Written by Shiggins

I can't believe I never predicted that ending.

As expected, this arc is not over yet although I think it's safe to say we're almost done. Everyone is shocked and upset, with Gray playing the blame game on himself and thinking that this will also cause all the giants to disappear if he tries to unfreeze them too. Thankfully, Wendy announces the Flame is not gone. I'm a bit confused here because last week, Wendy acted like she sensed an evil or scary magic. That's just intentionally misleading us!

Character Birthday Challenge ~ Nagato

70cb0c786d46ce9c8516ed7dea9f5cef.jpg
Favorite personality trait:
I liked his personality as a child better than his adult personality. The way he always needed guidance and followed every person with leadership, is absolutely my favorite trait of him as a child. It showed how much he underestimated his own abilities until he used the Demonic Statue.
Favorite relationship:
Konan and Yahiko. He really trusted them and he knew their abilities. It’s all because of Yahiko strong desire for peace that he became Pain after Yahiko died, but Konan stayed by his side and tried to care for him as much as possible. They were inseparable until the end, all of them. Yahiko lived forth in them and they tried to reach his goal in his place. That’s true friendship.

Bleach 549 Review – “The StormBringer”

Bleach 549 Review – “The StormBringer”

So, I now have a new favourite Quincy.

After seeing Hitsugaya and Matsumoto take down Bazz-B, the rest of the Soul Reapers get a sudden morale boost, and start to realise that they can defeat the Quincies even without their Bankai. Meanwhile, Marechiyo is not quite so lucky, as he’s being thrown into a wall by BG9, who is asking for the location of Sui-Féng (and acting like a robot). Despite his best efforts at interrogation, BG9 realises that Marechiyo is either lying, or doesn’t know where his Captain is.

Character Birthday Challenge ~ Kakashi

Wasn't at home yesterday, so here it is!
-----
c8bdcc6c0ca3dbc083817ff176df64ba.jpg
Favorite personality trait:
Calmness. Seriously, the way he keeps his cool in fights is just amazing. Always trying to analyze the situation, trying to keep everyone else out of harm’s way. I really like that about him. But the moments he loses his calm, are also awesome.
Favorite relationship:
Team 7. In the beginning, Kakashi acted like a strict, apathetic sensei. But when time passed, his personality around his team changed. He started to care for them, act on his feelings instead of the rules, etc. I really loved this change of heart.

Soul Eater Anime Review

Soul Eater Review

Would you like to fall into the madness?

Despite being a Shonen series, Soul Eater subverts a number of standard Shonen tropes. For a start, the protagonist is a female, every member of the seven-strong main cast gets equal screentime, and one of the main villains never even fights the main protagonist. However, none of these ever detract from the enjoyment of watching this show.

Fairy Tail Chapter 351 Review - Bang, And The Mountain Is Gone!

I really hope this means the arc is over now.

So far, we've been through a lot of strange crap in this arc. Once again, the characters are back to their original ages which only made reading the first page sad for me. I was begging to see young versions of Erza and Minerva fight but that's just not happening. Now, everybody in the group is reuniting except for those two badass babes. Natsu did look ready to pulverize Flare for past crimes but then realised how hurt she must be about her village so promised to help instead.

Bleach 548 Review – “The Thin Ice”

Bleach 548 Review – “The Thin Ice”

Since when does ice beat fire?

As the Soul Reapers panic over the fact that they’re now in the Vandenreich headquarters, it turns out that Marechiyo is doing what he does best – hiding. It appears that Sui-Féng is away, and Marechiyo is none too pleased at the fact that he’s been left alone to handle this. His little sister appears beside him, and begs him not to leave her alone. Despite her best efforts, Marechiyo prepares to do just that, and makes a vaguely heroic-sounding speech about how he has to protect everyone. However, he’s prevented from leaving by the arrival of BG9, the Quincy who stole Sui-Féng’s Bankai.

Death Note Anime Review

Death Note Review

A shining example of anime, or rotten to the core?

Let’s face it, most people with even the slightest interest in anime will have heard of Death Note. When a typical high school student called Light Yagami sees a notebook fall from the sky, his interest is piqued, and when he investigates, he realises that whoever’s name is written in the notebook (called the Death Note) will die. What follows is 37 episodes covering Light’s (not-so) slow descent into madness as he decides to use the Death Note in the name of justice.

Fairy Tail Chapter 350 Review - Kool Kid

This is just intentionally weird!

After discovering last week's twist with Doriate being one of the demons from the Book of Zeref, we now see Gray fight him in a battle I personally felt was a bit too short for such a scary figure. Once Doriate gives Gray a slap, he then does a screech. This turns everyone back into kids again, but also all those who weren't kids before. To put it simply, every character is a cutie and that includes Flare and Minerva  and even those Treasure Hunters who are still slightly unconscious.

Bleach 547 Review – “Peace From Shadows”

Bleach 547 Review – “Peace From Shadows”

Yes, after a lengthy hiatus, Bleach has finally returned.

"We're back, baby!"

Continuing from where we left off, shadows have engulfed the Soul Society as the home base of the Vandenreich appears inside the Seireitei. Shunsui, having returned from Karakura Town, tells Nanao how he anticipated an attack, but not one of this scale. Outside the barrier, Ukitake is informed of the invasion by the third seats of his squad.

Naruto Characters That Deserve More Love!

Written by Shiggins

Throughout the years of Naruto, we've had many characters. Some have been great and made us laugh and cry, while others have been grating on our nerves and making us wish they’d just fuck off, die and then come back so we can see a head-butt to that groin of theirs.

However, not every character in the series gets to do either. Some are cast aside and forgotten by the amount of screen-time that the stars of the show take up which is why I’m now here to inform you about the top 5 characters that need the love from you, from the writers and from the rest of the world!

5.Shizune

Shizune “Insert-last-name-here” is one of the top medical-nin of the Konoha village. She seemed to have become Tsunade’s attendant, which must be a loose translation to “Tsunade’s bitch” and spends a lot of time healing, holding Tonton the pig, or making an anime reaction face we all know and love.  She was also Dan Kato’s niece by the way, which I’m betting most people had forgotten.

She's A-dork-able!

Hellsing Ultimate Review

Hellsing Ultimate Review

Does a mixture of vampires, Nazis and Englishmen make a good anime?

Ever since I got into anime, I’ve occasionally been advised to watch Hellsing Ultimate, but for whatever reason I never really got around to it. I don’t know what, but something about it never really appealed to me, and I didn’t quite know what to think of it. And after actually watching it, I actually don’t know whether or not I enjoyed it.
