Mission: Yozakura Family - Kengo should be an Icon

Cat go wrong with Kengo!

I've been wanting to write about Mission: Yozakura Family for aaaaages, but I couldn't think up a good topic other than "Why MYF deserves an anime" and then listing it's best qualities. A fine article to make, but pretty predictable and has been done before, no doubt. So here we are, talking about one of the younger members and how awesome he is! Oh and if this doesn't convince you to read this manga, or demand an anime, nothing will. Except maybe the action scenes or the other characters or the art style or...

So who is Kengo Yozakura? Well, he's the fifth child of the Yozakura family's current generation, older brother to some and younger to others. He's also an expert spy, silver rank, and completely capable of creating any disguise he wants for both himself and others. He's a constant a source of comedy, tension and even a few action scenes here and there, because Mission: Yozakura Family can do it all and you should totally read it, or watch it when the anime gets the adaptation it deserves.

He's a Catboy

Let's get the most obvious fact out of the way first; He's a catboy.

Now if you've read the Bible, you'll know there's no catboys in it and that's probably the main reason it hasn't got much beyond a cult following these days. Cat people make everything better, and everyone loves them, and that's what the Bible was missing. Scooby-Doo had cat people, and it's had tons of films and shows and reboots. One of them was written by James Gunn. So yeah, cat people give you an advantage and Mission Yozakura Family was wise to have him be a catboy. 

You would think him being naked makes him less of a catboy, but as clearly shown by his personality here, that is simply not true.

Why is he a catboy? I don't know. Nor do I care. 

What's important is he is a catboy, he is proud to be one, and we should all be grateful for it.

He Doesn't Discriminate

Kengo is a good boy, a loyal boy, and like all good and loyal people, he doesn't discriminate against you. He's a narcissist, sure, but he wants you all to be united and love and adore him as much as you should because all are people and all are valid. And personally, I think that's pretty damn noble.

The world would be a better place if we were all pansexual.

As shown here, Kengo takes care of himself and he does it for you, the audience. It doesn't matter who you are, or what you are, Kengo sees you. Kengo wants to impress you. Because he cares about you, and he supports you in your endeavours to become the best you that you can be. Who knew being so full of vanity would have it's perks? Kengo knew, motherfuckers. Kengo knew.

He's Blonde

Alright listen up, assholes. Being blonde is important. You know who is blonde? Ino from Naruto. Thor from Marvel. Your favourite uncle, the one who never visits anymore, he's probably blonde. And so is Kengo.

Side note: It's probably impossible but if the anime could get this kind of colouring style, it'd be purrfect.

Kengo is blonde because he enjoys his life, and he seeks to make it the best he can for himself and everyone around him. Maybe he doesn't always succeed, maybe he annoys you sometimes in his eagerness to entertain, but you never hold that against him because he does what he does out of love. You just have to show him patience and compromise from time to time.

These are common traits of True Blondes, not the hair dyed monsters you see out there in the wild. Treat your blondes fairly and happily, and they will reward you with love, attention and a penchant for attracting gentlemen. (I really hope people get that reference...)

He's Completely Confident in Who He Is and What he Likes

Look at this picture below. Look at it, and you tell me he isn't a role model. We know he's male, we know he likes to play sports and all that other stuff, but he takes care of himself and isn't ashamed of it. He's fashionable, his nails and fingers are gorgeous, and he works hard to maintain that image and his skills.

If you enjoy something, go for it. That's what Kengo says. Kengo doesn't hurt people or whatever you claim you're doing when you harass people over Twitter. He treats himself right, and he wants you to do so too. It makes him feel better, feel useful to his family who he cares about, and at the end of the day, isn't that what we all want? Not just for ourselves but for the people in our lives! Take care of yourself, become cat, and you will find a new inner peace that brings about growth and happiness.
