Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest Chapter 51 Review - Roaring Earth

Written by Shiggins

Mahogany-Monotony.

With Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest going back to fortnightly-monthly releases, I suppose a chapter like this was inevitable. Not only does it try to kill the fun story we've been enjoying so far, but now we're going to have for literal weeks to continue it! Oh no, are we stuck in another Mercuphobia situation already?!

That broom has officially had more screentime than Romeo. And I hate that.
Aldoron roars as everyone left on his back does a runner, and Ass Church starts to break apart. While the White Wizard is still in shock from her apparent betrayal, Wendy activates Irene's Separation Enchantment and, in a surprisingly easy manner, Touka and the WW are split apart and pass out. Despite her being a villain, Natsu takes WW with them on the way out.

Most convenient knockout since I bashed my head in while watching Cats. (That's a joke. I never saw Cats.)
Once Natsu is outside, he's given a surprise by a sudden fleet of airships. Who are they? Well, they're the Guiltina Magic Council and are going to fire on Aldoron! They unleash a wave of attacks, supposedly more powerful than the Jupiter cannon according to Cannon Expert Juvia, and it strikes into Aldoron's big head. To no effect whatsoever.

Awesome picture, but stronger than the Jupiter Cannon? I have my doubts, despite Juvia's degree in Cannonicity.
Trees grow from the ground, the airships are destroyed, and the sexy Dragon Gods are in the distance grinning over how Aldoron is about to tear the world apart. Apparently they can just see what Aldoron is doing...?

Opinion: Drywood.

I have to be honest, and say that I haven't been so bored by a Fairy Tail chapter in a long time. We've had build-up chapters before that can feel quite the pace-killer, but they usually serve a purpose and prepare us for the big event. Here, we saw a big wooden dragon get hit, it roared and took down some red shirts, and the Gods with personality sat by their own personal baths. Honestly, the best part of this chapter was probably seeing that Ignia bathes in a volcano. I'm not joking.

Who were the fleet of guys really? Why did they only just show up now? Where were they before? Is there any point in asking these questions? No. They died as soon as they appeared. They took up literally pages for no reason except to make Aldoron's wrath seem scary, and if you can't figure out the giant Dragon God is going to be strong, you can't read words and therefore do not know what this sentence is saying.

At least Eden's Zero is awesome to read right now.

Manga Rating: 1/5

Best Part: Ignia's volcano bath.

Worst Part: Army of nobodies does nothing.

I should have known this chapter would suck as soon as I saw the cover was of these two!
